Phonebox
Time to go retro! You don't see many of these anymore, sadly! The red phonebox is one of those things that reminds us of just how amazing our countries' history is. This particular model is a K2 phonebox, a lesser-known model of the iconic red phoneboxes. Typically, red phoneboxes are K6 phoneboxes, a smaller variant of the K2.
London Underground
The world's oldest underground railway, the London Underground system, commonly known as the Tube because of the cylindrical shaped tunnels, criss-crosses below the historic city of London, carrying around 3,400,000 people per day. It has 11 lines and 270 stations on the network, and covers a large part of Greater London, as well as parts of Essex, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.
10 Downing Street
The most iconic headquarters of anything in the country; 10 Downing Street, in central London, is the headquarters of Her Majesty's Government and the official residence and office of the First Lord of the Treasury, a post now taken by the Prime Minister. The famous black front door is synonymous with politics, and not a single major news broadcast goes by without a live feed from outside. Despite this, Downing Street is not actually open to the public, and is fenced off to keep out riff-raff.
The White Cliffs of Dover
This is our face;our facade to Europe. This is the only part of our country visible on the continent, and what a glorious part of our country it is. The White Cliffs of Dover are made mainly of soft, white chalk, and are prone to coastal erosion more than other cliffs. Contrary to the famous song, bluebirds cannot actually be found over these cliffs, as bluebirds are an American bird species not found in the UK.
A Shed
This is a thoroughly splendid example of the British manshed. A Britons life is incomplete without a shed, and we are a nation of sheds. Some of the greatest inventions in the world have come out of sheds, and it's high time we put down our espressos, went to the shed and made something. Probably a birdtable.
